SABLE's story

　　06/18/18 Sable came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Sable is a shy cat and was not doing well with the children in the home, they were too overwhelming for him. Despite feeling cornered and afraid, Sable never tried to bite, just hissed and scratched. Due to his previous history, he needs to find a home without children; Sable will be most comfortable with teenagers and adults who understand that he does not want to be picked up and held and would much rather be patted gently, looked at and admired for his dashing good looks. According to the previous owner, Sable is good with dogs and cats and although he will sometimes miss the the litterbox off the sides, is litterbox trained. This can easily be remedied by providing Sable with a larger or covered litterbox. Sable gets upset when he is over-handled, so he will need a cat savvy owner who can ready body language well to ensure he is a happy boy.
