My story
Ryder found himself, partially blind, with possible cerebellar hypoplasia (no balance) dumped like last week's trash, no idea where he was or how to find help, just a little baby, scared and alone, full of hookworms that could have proved fatal if left untreated. Luckily, he was picked up by Animal Control, taken to the shelter and, sucker that I am for disabled dogs, I had to go bring him into rescue. He was so sick and scared that he became like a wild little animal until he realized that he was in a safe place. Now he has mapped out his own safe areas where he runs and bounds about, loving a belly rub now and then, but preferring just to run and jump like a little deer until he wears himself out then he is at it all over again. He is just a complete JOY to watch and to love on when he allows it. He loves to attack his toys with gusto and makes sure that they are not going to sneak up on him. He must go to someone who is well versed in small dogs who are "special" and have NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 12 and NO DOGS OVER 15 LBS. He has pad trained himself and rarely does he miss the pad. He loves to run and play on my FENCED IN AND COVERED PATIO. He is afraid to go out into the potty area and I would be terrified for him to go out into the yard! He would not feel safe nor would he BE safe out in the big yard, as he could get lost or something could grab him, so he would need someplace small and safe to go and be supervised at all times.
