My story
My name is Ruth and I am 9.5 years old. I came to the rescue from TN in November 2020 and was heartworm positive. I finished my last treatment in April 2021 and I am due for a final follow-up test in September. So as of right now, I am only available as a foster to adopt till we get confirmation that the HW is gone for good!!In early June, I had a dental and a mammary mass removed but it was not biopsied. I have a few more masses but the vet recommended not removing them due to my age and prior heartworm. But I am in good health otherwise! When I first came to the rescue, I was not potty trained, did not walk well on a leash and knew no basic training commands. But now I can proudly say that I know all of these things! I did not live indoors in my prior life in TN so I still need some training and patience as I learn how be a house dog. I get along well with other dogs and really love my humans!I hope you'll want to be my new foster to adopt family and then my forever home once we confirm I am all healthy!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ruth, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
