Rusty is a big softie!
This sweet boy can’t wait to meet you! We aren’t sure of his breed but are thinking Rusty is a Retriever and Mastiff mix, we are sure you will fall in love with this handsome pup.
He is gentle and friendly when meeting adults, but we don’t know he is with kids. He tends to jump out of excitement and potential adopters with young children should keep this in mind. Rusty is good with all dogs, male and female. He knows sit and is good on leash although he sometimes pulls or zigzags, but it is only briefly until corrected. Rusty is trustworthy playing with other dogs unattended and eats with them freely.
He is crate trained and house training is in progress. He is a strong boy and will need a strong confident adopter that will reinforce "no free lunch" and consistently enforce house rules and manners. Gentle and sometimes goofy, Rusty is a pretty quiet boy but you might hear him demand bark.
An obedience class would be great for Rusty; it will help teach him good manners and commands, further socialization with other dogs and people, and will help build that very important bond between a dog and his human. A fenced yard would be ideal so he could run and play safely, but if that's not available he'll need lots of leash walks and opportunities for off-leash play in a fenced area.
Rusty a gentle happy boy who just wants a loving forever home. Can you make his dream come true? Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family!
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see

*Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
