Rusty's story

　　Rusty: 7 year old, red neutered male, cropped ears & docked tail, 11.5" tall and about 10 lbs. Shots up to date & Micro-chipped, rescued from shelter. Special needs boy!

　　Rusty is back in rescue through no fault of his own. His adopter fell on hard times and was unable to keep him. He originally came to us from a shelter. His owner had surrendered him because one of his eyes had been injured and they could not afford to treat it. We were able to save his eye but the cornea scarred. He lost sight in that eye and as a result he has very little depth perception. Rusty uses his nose like a white cane in unfamiliar environments to check for obstacles. The only time this seems to fail is around in-ground swimming pools so he needs a home where he can't accidentally fall in one. Otherwise he navigates quite well once he knows his surroundings. I don't think this will be a problem though as his favorite place to be is in your lap. Rusty would love to spend the rest of his life (that's likely to be 10 or more years) snuggled up with his favorite person who might want to rub his belly occasionally. He is a bit of a couch potato that would be perfect in either a home or apartment. A few walks each day to go potty is all he needs to be a happy boy.

　　Rusty is not a big barker but will let you know if someone comes to the door. Everyone who meets Rusty loves him and he returns the favor. This is a very sweet, loving boy that wants to find his forever home. He will do best in a quiet home. He is fine with kids but prefers adults.
