My story
Ruger is an 1-year-old male Black Lab mix who must be neutered before he is adopted. He came to PAHS after his owner found out they couldn't have a dog at their new home. Ruger is solid black and gorgeous; he may be a pure bred Black Lab. He weighs 60 pounds so he is considered to be a large adult dog. Ruger is well behaved when walking on his leash; in fact, he is just a very well behaved fellow but extremely shy. We do believe he may have some separation anxiety when left alone. He is quite 'skittish' when he first meets you and other dogs. For this reason, we feel that it is very important that if you would like to adopt Ruger; and you have children or another dog, that we schedule a meet and greet to let Ruger get to know your other family members. Although he is a very sweet boy, we feel like he would do best in a home with no young children. This is just a great all around dog who should make an excellent family dog for a patient owner who is willing to show Ruger some love.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120 and cat/kitten adoption fees are $50. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter certificate, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ruger 34601, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
