Don Balke is one of America's finest Wildlife and Nature artists. Still alive and doing well in his 80's, he no longer paints and therefore the value of his work has taken off in the last few years.
This print is from the early '70s and I am the original purchaser. It was shown in my office for a few years and then stored in a humidity controlled room. Professionally framed, this large, wooden framed piece of 36" X 32" makes a magnificent statement wherever it hangs. I have had years of enjoyment looking at it and it's now time for someone else to enjoy it. Expand the pictures and look at the detail. Also note the tasteful double matting and material border. Today, framing it would cost almost as much as I'm asking for the picture already done. This print is long since sold out and rarely comes up for sale, no less framed too.
Would make a great gift, will appreciate better than the stock market and you can enjoy looking at it in the meantime. I am not an art dealer. Price was arrived at by talking to multiple dealers who specialize in wildlife art. They feel it's worth well over $400. I've priced it to sell. Somebody is going to get more than their moneys worth.
