Ruby: Front Declawed (FCID# 06/08/2017 - 202)'s story
Declawed, diabetic. Ruby (FCID# 06/08/2017 - 202) is a sweet, declawed, brown tabby who was given up, along with two siblings, by her family who could no longer care for her. Ruby is a beautiful 3-4 years old brown tabby who would love to have a real family, for real. Once she trusts you, she warms up and is a real sweetheart.
Ruby has been diagnosed with diabetes insipidus. This condition is a permanent and lifelong condition but is easily managed with daily medication in the form of eye drops. Diabetes insipidus (DI) is a rare disorder in cats that affects the body's ability to conserve water, thereby releasing too much of it. This condition is characterized by increased urination, dilute urine (so-called insipid, or dull urine), and increased thirst and drinking.
