Rowdy's story
"I lived with dogs in my previous home!"
"I find cats a little TOO interesting, so best to keep them away!"
"Due to my personality, I'm a better fit for homes with older children and adults!"
A good sized boy (80 pounds), Rowdy is shy and nervous with strangers. But once he knows you, you'll see how wiggly, huggable and affectionate he really is---he loves belly rubs. Rowdy has been described as "a big dog with lots of puppy behavior" left in him and he sometimes "forgets how big he is" so he might be a bit much for small children. He is a playful guy who has a good bit of energy and loves to play fetch. Rowdy walks nicely on leash, knows several commands (using hand signals) and is used to sleeping in the bedroom with his person. While he might get along with another friendly dog, cats and small animals (like chickens) are another story-he needs a home without them. [kc]
Rowdy has been a favorite of our Foster FURlough program. His fieldtrip and overnight fosters report he is very well mannered in the home. He enjoys playing with other dogs. Rowdy listens well and is eager to please! [pc]
