Rosie Posie's story
If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Pre-Qualification Form. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.
Rosie, meaning "little rose" is a 7-8 year old basset/dachshund/beagle mix, who is a social butterfly, good natured and also a little bit of a couch potato. She's housetrained, tolerant of other dogs, not sure about cats, but due to the scent hound in her, would require a fenced in yard. She seems to favor women more over men and is more tolerant of adult children vs. active young children. She LOVES to go on walks and gets very excited when were getting ready to head outside. When there are squirrels in the vicinity, those little short legs of hers will get a burst of energy and pull on the leash, otherwise, shes a dream to take for a walk. Shes currently a little overweight so were working on less treats and more exercise. All in all, a really sweet dog that would make a great companion and walking partner.
