Meet Rosebud Noelle!
Rosebud was surrendered to Road Dogs & Rescue in December 2017 because she is a special needs puppy. She was born with a cleft lip and a cleft palate (giant hole on the roof of her mouth), which requires a lot of supervision, maintenance, and eventually surgery with a specialist. Please research cleft palate care before applying to adopt.
Rosebud is an American Bully (not a Bulldog) and will weigh at least 70 lbs when full-grown. (Make sure your landlord and city do not have any BSL restrictions against this breed.) She is a very active dog with a strong personality and needs daily exercise. Basic training and socialization should be part of her early protocol. She is an attentive, high energy, high-drive dog, which makes training with her fun! She does not respond well to punishment, but thrives on positive reinforcement and reward-based training.
Rosebud is currently in a foster home with another dog learning to be a great pup. She has quite the bossy attitude and likes to be in charge, but with slow introductions and a lot of guidance she will make a great companion. She is gentle with cats and children. She loves running, playing with toys, chasing balls, going for long walks, socializing with dogs, eating treats from Kongs, cuddling on the couch, and reward-based training. She is loyal and will follow you around like shes your shadow.
We are looking for an experienced, strong, active dog owner that will give Rosebud the attention she deserves to be a successful, well-mannered pup.
*Before applying to adopt Rosebud, remember all puppies require training and socialization to ensure they have the best life as adults. If you do not feel like you have the time to put into the necessary training, please look into adopting a dog with more life experience. Applicants must be on-board with a home check and meet and greet before adoption. Applicants must be on-board with spaying and microchipping Rosebud. Rosebud is not an outdoor dog. Applicants must be on-board with Rosebud living indoors at all times. Applicants must agree to give Rosebud proper cleft palate care to give her the best quality of life possible, which includes surgery with a specialist when she is older and stronger. Cropping her ears is not an option. Local residents preferred. No shipping.
