My story
Roo was the product of backyard breeding in Flint, MI, most likely to supply fighting rings. As a puppy she was so horrifically abused that she is now the only surviving dog of her litter. She thankfully escaped with her life and a kind neighbor rescued her before it was too late.
Roo has now has made it home with a wonderful foster momma living her best life ever. Of course, there are deep emotional scars for Roo, she’s been severely beaten by both humans and dogs, so she’s very fearful of other dogs and most anyone she meets. It takes her a while to warm up so Roo’s future adopter may have to visit with her a few times before taking her home.
Once Roo knows you won’t hurt her, she is ALL IN. You will never meet a more affectionate and loyal dog. She’s the perfect example of a Velcro-pitty, which is miraculous knowing the terror her life once was. Of course, because of her fearful nature, we would recommend a home with older and/or dog savvy children who know to give her space to feel comfortable. We also recommend a home without other dogs because all her dog experience has been traumatic thus far. Roo is the perfect candidate for a calm, peaceful household because she would much rather snuggle up for a Netflix marathon instead of a 5 mile hike. She’s potty-trained, and crate train (though she probably doesn’t need one) and an all around great dog who deserves a life of comfort and security after years of pain and fear.
