Today I'm going to be introducing to you a brand new Rolex 40 millimeter GMT. This is reference number one one six seven one eight and we have a watch in 18 karat yellow gold here that I'm introducing to you today. Rolex GMT originally came out as a 40 millimeter watch with a function to measure multiple time zones. This is by utilizing a GMT hand that runs around the dial for 24 hours. You can see that 24 hour GMT hand here. The 1:00 position. And pilots who are traveling back and forth find this watch really helpful. It was introduced for the Pan Am airline pilots back in the 1960s. Now, in 2007 the watch got a really big update. It comes on what's called a super case now. Super case has a little bit thicker lugs you're gonna notice here on the top and the bottom of the watch. It is a beefier watch, but it's still a 40 millimeter. The bracelet is a heavy style bracelet. And it comes with a half polish, that's where the sides are a satin finish on the sides and there's a mirror finish on the center links. You'll see that on the deployment as well. Take the watch off here. Deployment opens up like so. Really nice, tight feel. You're also gonna see an easier link deployment in here that opens up roughly five millimeters, allows your wrist to breathe if you need to. If you get hot. We'll pop that back in. This has a really nice solid feel. You might wanna check it out at your local Adia, see how heavy it is and if it's a good fit for you. The dial has a green GMT hand obviously, as I just told you, and I'm gonna show you how that works. Pop this watch out, the crown out. Pull that out to the outside position. And you're gonna see the minute hand moving around. Also the hour hand and the GMT hand. If you pay attention to the hour hand and the GMT hand, you'll notice that the hour hand is actually traveling twice as fast as the GMT hand is. So, for every time the hour hand goes around the dial twice, that's one day, the GMT actually only needs to travel around once to complete one day cycle. In the middle position, you can actually do what's called a quick hour jump. You'll notice just the hour hand is moving around. This is actually a really good way to change the date. So, for every two times this hour hand rolls around to 12:00, you'll notice it changes the date. Pretty cool. The movement is a 3186 keller move movement, if I haven't detailed that already. And here I am winding the watch here. You should give it at least 15 to 20 time turns, maybe up to 30 times. But don't overdo it. That will give you a lot of power reserve. Overall, this is one of the most popular watches Rolex has to offer. It's a very versatile watch. It can be worn with a dressy outfit or even with a T-shirt and shorts, if you choose. The watch is heavy as it's 18 Karat gold. Still a 40 millimeter watch so it's not going to be too overbearing on your wrist. I'll try it on for size so you have an idea. Perfect.
