Rocky's story
Rocky was found as a stray. He had a microchipped, but once contacted his old owner stated that he did not want him back and gave no reason why. We agreed to take him not knowing very much about him. He is absolutely gorgeous, but is going to require an experienced adopter in a home with no children. Rocky is mistrustful of new humans, and can be reactive when something makes him uncomfortable. He does not like to be grabbed, and if you grab him by his collar or correct him too harshly, he gets nippy and mouthy. We have one instance of him biting resulting in a puncture wound. He is a beautiful boy who, with time and patience to gain someones trust and the correct understanding of how he needs to be treated, still has a chance of being a great companion for someone. He deserves a fair chance at a new life!
He is not going to be a great dog for a family which children because of his lack of trust for brand new humans and reactivity. He is however great with other dogs! He loves to run and play and shows no fear or trust issues with other dogs. So he would do well in a home either with or without other dogs. We are uncertain with cats but would not recommend.
He had been neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations. Please let us know if you think you might be a good fit for Rocky!
