My story

　　12/15/21 River was adopted, but later returned after a few months due to the previous owner being unable to properly care for her. River is said to thrive best on a set schedule, if anything changes she struggles to adapt. Particularly with pottying habits. River needs to be let outside on a consistent schedule or she will have accidents. River is also said to sometimes get into the trash when left unattended as well. River may benefit from someone who can be home with her more consistently, or possibly, it may be best to just crate her when leaving the house to avoid unwanted accidents/trash eating. River also has a history of being very selective with other dogs, caution should be strongly exercised if introducing her to other dogs. River did well with children according to the previous owner, and she also liked meeting new people in her previous home. River also just had a dental cleaning paid for by the Shelter Fund.08/24/21 River came to the shelter as a stray and was surrendered to the shelter shortly after. According to the previous owner River is said to do well with children and adults, has never been around cats, and was friendly towards a puppy that she was introduced to recently. Previously, from an impound in 2017, River did not get along with dogs, so introductions should be done carefully as River may be selective when it comes to meeting other canines. She has shown some dog reactivity towards two female dogs here at the shelter. River can also climb chain link fences, so she will need a secure tie out to keep her contained. River is said to be house trained and enjoys being inside especially in the colder months. River is a sweet older husky that is looking for a more relaxed home, but she would still enjoy a good walk and has plenty of energy!
