Riley's story
Riley is a 9 week old Terrier/Boxer mix. Riley's mom is a 25lb scruffy, adoptable terrier mix and we believe that their dad was a bigger Boxer mix due to the size and coloring of Riley and his siblings. We are guessing they will be between 35-50lbs when full grown.
Riley's Momma was found as a stray in New Mexico, about to give birth. Luckily one of our rescue partners in New Mexico was able to catch mom and get her into a safe foster home before she gave birth. We tried to get her to CO before her pups were born but we were a little late. Once all 9 puppies and mom were strong and healthy they made their treck to CO. Fast forward 9 weeks and all of the pups are ready to find their forever homes.
Momma Natalie is a very, very timid little girl. She was clearly on the streets for years and while she is incredibly sweet and making progress, she still has a little anxiety when meeting new people. The pups have picked up on that a little bit. All 9 puppies are incredibly sweet, love their foster Momma, kid sibling, and the other dogs in the home. When new people come to play with the pups it takes them a couple minutes to warm up, they are a little shy at first, but not for long. They are playful, loving, adorable puppies, they will just need a little time and socialization with their new family. They love treats, playtime, and even the snow!!! They have been caught more than once romping around in the white powdery snow, and it doesn't seem to phase them at all, they love it. These babies would do great in a home with another dog to show them the ropes and help them continue to gain confidence. It is not mandatory though since they do warm up pretty quickly and we know that with puppy training classes their confidence will grow very quickly.
These pups will need exercise daily since they are bigger pups and already love to romp around. They can be found like a little stampede clamoring through the fosters house...it's absolutely adorable.
