My story
10/23/21 Rider was returned to the shelter because his previous owners could not properly care for him and fulfill his needs. During his short stay with his previous family, Rider is said to have done well with both men, women and strangers alike. He is also said to well with other dogs, but his behavior with cats, pocket pets and livestock is still unknown. We also do not know how well Rider will do with children, so caution should be taken when introducing him. Rider's previous said that he is housebroken and that he spent most of his time in a kennel when they weren't home. His previous owner's mentioned that Rider can be timid. However, here at the shelter, he has been very sweet and affectionate with everyone he has met. Rider does know the command `sit` and partially listens to the command `lay down.` He has been known to jump on people. If you are interested in meeting this sweet fellow, please give the shelter a call!10/07/21 This oh so very handsome boy is Rider. Rider came in as a stray and was later surrendered by his owner, so we don't have much prior information on him. His owner felt like he needed a more active family and a yard, and that he would be happier with a different family. He came in wearing a harness so he may be harness trained. Rider is a complete sweet heart with his animal tenders. He has a very outgoing and energetic personality. Being that he was a stray we don't know how he does interacting with other animals such as dogs, cats, pocket pets, or livestock. He appears very friendly towards his doggy neighbors here at the shelter. Huskies do tend to have a high prey drive so if you have smaller critters around please take extreme caution with this boy. All introductions with new animals, children, and strangers should be done in a slow, safe, and controlled environment! Rider is looking for an active home that can keep him both physically and mentally stimulated! He may enjoy learning the art of skijoring this winter! Here at the shelter Rider appears to be housebroken as he has kept his kennel accident free! Also, in true husky fashion he has shown us his vocal side - he is extra talkative when he is excited! If you are interested in meeting Rider please give the shelter a call!
