　　Sasha's Life Story

　　Our loving pet, Sasha, is in need of a new home. Wonderful and amazing with children, family and all humans, she is dog aggressive and needs a care giver that understands her special needs. We, her family, are heart broken, utterly devastated, at the need to relinquish her, but know it is in her best interest and are willing to do everything necessary to assure her safe transfer to a new home.

　　Sasha is a very loving, sweet, adoring girl who has so much joy to give, but must be in a home that is absolutely secure, with no chance of escape. Her handler must have a strong working knowledge of dealing with dogs that have dog aggression. With the proper care and safety measures in place, Sasha can be a perfect pet. Won't you find it in your heart to reach out to your network to help Sasha find a new home? We know there must be someone who's open heart can receive all the love Sasha has to give.

　　We found Sasha in a park in 2009 and instantly fell in love. We kept her from being taken to the local pound which would have put her down within 5 days. We were not ready for a dog, let alone a large pitbull, but were so inspired by her sweetness, intelligence, loyalty and exuberance we welcomed her in. She has been an integral part of our family ever since.

　　She doted on our two children, then 6 and 9, now 10 and 13, brought lots of energy and excitement into our home. In a different situation, with an owner with more time and dog experience, she may have been able to be trained out of her dog aggression. She plays running games with our neighbor dog through the fence but otherwise doesn't really have any contact with other dogs. We did dog training with her a few times, worked with her on walks, but were never able to work her through her dog aggression. I believe if she was, she could be an amazing agility dog. She listens so well, really wants to please and is incredibly smart.

　　Recently while we were away she got out and attacked another dog. This is not the first time this has happened, so we finally came to the heartbreaking decision that we are not the best home for our sweet Sasha. Even when we are here and vigilant there are too many variables to control to make sure she doesn't get out. We are clear she needs a situation that is more secure, with an owner who has more stability and control over her and the home environment.
