I collect and clean most any older camera in my effort to eliminate these units from winding up in some landfill. So many of the old foldouts, 35mm and just older film cameras had so much of our forefathers technology built in that to me it seems a shame to just discard for the sake of new, howbeit I like the new but consider these worth keeping around for
our posterity. They are great conversation pieces, make beautiful mantle / library units and are quite interesting. Hopefully this ad will find the attention of those who do treasure our parents past and what they were able to accomplish with the tools, knowledge and technology of their day. I have a personal collection of seventy or so older cameras and am always interested to either buy or trade, keep that in mind please.
Revere was an American camera maker. The company was founded in 1920 by Samuel Briskin as Excel Radiator Co., making car radiators and other products. A dependent company of Excel started to make 8mm movie cameras in 1939, and was merged into the main company, which became Revere Camera Co. The company acquired the lens maker Wollensak in the 1950s, and was itself bought by 3M in 1960.
