Restored early 1800s 4/4 violin or fiddle if you prefer. It is branded HOPF inside and on the back near the button area. The violin is clearly very old, most likely made in Germany in the early 1800s. The violin has been professionally restored. The seam on the back may have been repaired sometime in the past. Other than this, I do not see any other old repairs. The antique look and most of the original varnish have been preserved. I do not see any cracks, open seams or old repairs. It has scuffs and nicks speaking of its long history, but they have been nicely touched up. The violin is structurally sound and is ready to play. It has rich and vibrant tone. I would recommend replacing the old strings with a quality new set; that will make it sound even better. Dimensions of the violin: overall length 22 and 7/8" body length 13 and 3/4 " and width 7 and 1/2" Returns accepted; buyer pays for return shipping.Happy New Year!
