Reg's story
Reg is a sweet little fella. One of our volunteers was approached by a young boy. "Can you help me help a dog" she was asked. The volunteer followed the boy a few houses down and the boy was greeted by Reg, who ran out to the street to greet him while he was still on his bike. It is hard to understand the relationship between the two as Reg was in horrible condition. The young boy explained that the dog was not his but follows him everywhere. We are just happy that the young boy reached out to the volunteer as he told her, "I know you will take care of him." So today, after weeks in our care, Reg is finally showing signs of confidence and enjoyment. He came to us with a horrible skin infection, ticks, fleas, an embedded collar and emotionally defeated. He was afraid of everything and everybody. Today, after spending time in a very structured, fun, and loving foster home Reg is almost the perfect guest. He now loves meeting people, LOVES the company of other dogs and has just about mastered the potty outside rule. He is great on walks, loves the car and has gone to some outside events and has done well. We would love to see Reg go to a home that has another dog for him to romp with. He does okay with cats as he lives with one. He is a complete cuddle bug, loves to sit on the lap and have his ears scratched. Reg is the perfect lap dog, the perfect companion!
