This little man is Pete, a one year old male Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. Pete has a handsome black smooth coat with tan and white markings. He is small but all legs weighing only 10 pounds. Pete was pulled from our local animal shelter where he had been turned in by someone who found him, kept him for a while, but then decided they couldnt keep him. Poor fellow. So he was pretty scared and shy down there and not doing too well so we pulled him out. Pete is a very loving dog that wants to be with you. Yes, a lap dog! He is a bit timid on first meeting but is quite the love bug once he knows you. Did we mention he is a lap dog??!! Pete would be fine in an apartment as long as he gets daily walks. He must be an inside dog and on a leash or in a fenced yard if left outside any unattended. Pete would do better with older children, not young ones due to his small size and that he would be more comfortable in a calmer environment. Pete seems to be ok around other dogs, we dont know about cats. We have started his crate training. Pete is up to date on his vet care, will be neutered prior to adoption, heartworm negative and is micro chipped. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. What an expressive face this little guy has asking for a loving home!! Our adoption fee is $75.
