Rare Vintage Holton H180 Professional Double Horn - 1981 - Excellent!Up for sale is this great, hard to find vintage Holton H180!The horn is in overall excellent condition. Great suction and compression. Rotors are in great shape, with new string. Nice easy action. The horn has a 564XXX serial number, which places in approximately 1981. Very hard to find these older 180s, particularly in such good shape. Cosmetically the horn is an 8.5+ out of 10. Some minor scratches and small dings in the bell from normal use, but nothing major. I see no evidence of past dent work or solder repair. It looks as though someone scratched their initials into the bell over the Holton logo - tried to show this in the pic. The bow looks excellent, basically perfect.

　　The brass and nickel lacquer are great, about 95+%. Two of my colleagues who are professional horn players and band directors (both have masters in horn performance, one formerly in the Marine Band) both tested this out for me. They both said it plays extremely well and feels good. Both sounded amazing on it - incredible dark, sparkling sound. Huge projection. This would be a perfect instrument for a very serious high school student, a college horn major, serious amateur, or even a professional player. Great orchestral horn. Incredible vintage instrument for the price, and priced to sell!
