Rare "Globe Ideal Cabinet File" from the late 1800’s. Made by the Globe Files Company of Cincinnati, Ohio which was formed in 1882 and later became the Globe Company. In 1890, the Michigan-based Wernicke Company, also an office supply company, was acquired and the two companies merged to form Globe-Wernicke in 1904.This unique, stackable Tiger oak letter file cabinet is a very solid piece of antique furniture. Consisting of four modular pieces, two 3-drawer adjustable letter file cabinet sections, a top which has the original "Globe" label and a finishing base. Each removable drawer has its original copper plated brass pull handle with label holder.
