My story
07/20/21 Randy was surrendered to the shelter due to house soiling in the home. According to the previous owner, this behavior began occurring after new babies were introduced into the house. The previous owner believes the stress may have caused the new inappropriate urination and defecation around the home. Randy was seen by a veterinarian who believes that Randy suffers from stress cystitis, which is essentially bladder irritation brought on by stress, and he also had FLUTD (feline urinary tract disease), for which he will need at least yearly rechecks with his new owner's regular veterinarian and his new owners will need to be vigilant about monitoring his bladder outputs.
Randy will also need to eat wet food for life.
Randy is said to do well with other cats, dogs and is friendly with toddlers and adults; however, due to his urinary issues worsening with the introduction of new children to the home we are requiring that he go to a quiet, low stress home with no dogs. Randy has been known to jump up on counters and snatch food and can be a really affectionate guy. If Randy sounds like the cat for you, please give the shelter a call to make an appointment to meet him!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt RANDY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
