Rain's story

　　Rain is a classic Great Dane, a breed often dubbed "gentle giants." Rain came to the Humane Society of Sonoma County from one of our partner shelters. We adore senior dogs of which Rain is considered to be, at the grand age of eight years. Senior dogs have so much left to offer an adoptive family. She is very active and still does zoomies in the yard. Her foster family takes her on daily two miles walks and reports that she still has gas left in the tank!

　　Rain would appreciate a family who would be willing to provide her with plenty of exercise, a soft bed on which to sprawl her gorgeous body and a loving family. We are recommending Rain live as an only dog in the household. She has shown a disinterest in them. In fact, she likely would prefer to not stop and greet every dog out there. (That's quite normal for an older dog who has seen it all.) She might be fine with children old enough to understand how to be gentle in interactions with an older dog, masking as a miniature horse.
