Except for the bits of grey on his muzzle you would never know he is a 10 year old. He loves walks but will need some training. He is so anxious to explore, he is a power walker. He loves the dog park, mingling with dogs and would probably be up for a hike or two. He listens well and enjoys being wherever his people are. He can get protective of his space and people. He likes to jump and has some chewing issues. At a recent event, he wagged his tail off when he saw kids and was eager to meet them. He loves car rides but needs a restraint or he will travel all over the car. Showing territorial issues. Was an outside dog, so he still needs help with more house training. Due to a developing moist cough, Raider had a chest x-ray and then cardiac ultra sound, which revealed chronic valvular degeneration (CVD), a slow weakening of the heart valves. Started on medications to strengthen his heart valves, decrease blood pressure, and decrease fluid around his heart and lungs. He is feeling better since treatment began. His fosters say he will be a hard pup to give up but realized that Raider is destined for his forever loving family. Our dogs are temporarily housed in pre-screened, loving foster homes while waiting their new forever home. They are also micro-chipped, groomed (if needed), and given a thorough professional veterinary exam to identify any health issues or potential issues.
