My story
Meet Sonya!Sonya is not your average social butterfly. We are unsure what she has had to endure in her past that has caused her to be a shy/reserved girl. Although she may not show it, she really enjoys walking and will follow you like a shadow. She thinks country music is the best and it really seems to calm her down when she listens to it. She tries to put on a tough face and tends to be a bit apathetic. She tolerates being petted and tends to try to solicit for more pets, but it shows that she tries to restrain herself. Regardless she seems to enjoy the attention without showing it. Sonya is in need of a quiet, predictable home where she can decompress and learn to blossom on her own. At this time she needs an adult only home (or home with older teens) that can give her the space she needs to learns the ropes of her new place. The good samaritan that brought Sonya to the shelter had her for a few days and they had no issues with her in the home. She seems to be very fearful of other dogs and her notes indicated that she did not get along well with the dog she met before coming to the shelter. At this time it is very difficult to get a good read of her behavior and to learn what she likes/dislikes. If you think you and your family can give Sonya that second chance to learn and grow with you, then please email us! Please share to help us find Sonya her furrever home!
