  My story

Please go to our website at  to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application.  Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website. We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run. We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have. Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.  Prince is initially very shy but warms up to you in a few hours. He gets scared with sudden movements and is still quite unsure of his new life. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body but needs some help learning how to play and have fun. He is a gorgeous smart boy who just needs his person to trust so he can open up and be the best companion.Health Notes | Underweight. Will need to gain a good bit of weight but he loves food so shouldn't be a problem.Other Dogs | No other dogs in the foster home. However he seems very interested in all dogs we meet on walks and has not shown any negative behavior towards other dogs. Because of his personality, he would likely be a submissive play partner and would benefit from another dog showing him how to play and allow him to gain more confidence.Cats | Unknown. He would probably be scared of them and wouldn't bother them.Children | Unknown. He is very shy at the moment and the sudden movements of kids may not suit him. Older kids may be fine. Just watch your fingers with treats. However, he is likely to develop into a total snuggle back so if kids are introduced slowly he'll be okay.Training | 100% house trained. Doesn't know any commands yet. Once he is comfortable with his person and does not mind being approached (he tends to back away initially) he should be fairly easy to train as he is very food motivated. Jumps right into the car (trunk or back seat) but gets a little nervous and will whine. A bone helps tremendously. He is free roaming during the day when his foster mom works from home. He sleeps all night on a dog bed (or your bed) in the bedroom and will let you know when he needs to be let out in the morning. Does not love the crate but we are working on it. He does fine being free roaming when his foster mom is away - will chill on his bed, preferably with a peanut butter kong. Leash | He doesn't mind being attached to a leash, but he is a strong puller and will need training. Doesn't lunge or display any reactivity. He would really just like to meet everyone on our walks. Has encountered runners, construction vehicles and sirens and wasn't phased.Activity Level | Moderate. He is a young dog but doesn't have crazy puppy energy. He will tire himself out on walks and then nap on his bed.Personality | Prince is definitely shy and seems to have a hard time trusting people at the moment. However, within a few hours he'll come to you for pets and he will make sure you're never too far away although he is okay being in a different room. He is currently very food driven which is likely caused by his low weight and may improve over time.Story | Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle. November 22, 2022, 10:09 am
