My story
Meet Quincy, your next best buddy! This 2 1/2 year old hairy hairless Chinese Crested will win your heart with his adorable floppy tongue and soulful eyes! He is happy to be by your side and will match your energy levels. Want to lounge on the couch all Sunday? No problem, Quincy will curl up at your feet for hours. Or would you rather take a walk around the neighborhood? He’ll happily prance alongside you like a mini pony with his windswept mane! He is such a well-mannered boy-he goes potty outside, cooperates with getting dressed in his jammies and gets along well with other household dogs and cats. If he sees a human leg sticking out, he’ll duck under it and hilariously twerk his body for a good back scratch. He’ll want to sleep in bed with his people and will follow them from room to room (yes, even the bathroom!). Quincy does show signs of fear, though not any aggression, around men. We suspect abuse in his past. When females are present he tries to protect them by letting out a couple barks and a low grumble toward men, especially when approached. He’ll still walk up to his foster dad, ask for pets and want to snuggle, but just on HIS terms. With time and trust building, we believe he will outgrow this fear and become BFFs with the dudes in his life. Quincy also gets carsick when he’s on the road, so he would do best as a stay-at-home dog. He's not the kind of boy who wants to be out and about, much preferring to just lounge at home where he feels safe and secure. This sweet, silly, and impossibly cute nekkid baby - seriously, he looks like a puppet that’s come to life - would fit right in with his perfect people. Due to his timidity, a quiet home with no young kids is required. He also would not do well in a home with a lot of company coming and going, as new people make him anxious. He would love a quiet place where someone is home a lot of the time, as he just loves being with you. If you think you might be a good match for this super sweet boy, please read our adoption guidelines first and then submit an application (Quincy is being fostered in western PA)
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Quincy (PA), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
