Description: Up for bid is a RARE original blues player piano roll from my private collection. The father of stride James P. Johnson playing "Roumania" from 1920 by Clarence Williams, Dave Peyton and Spencer Williams. Roll is simply a standard pop song but it is laced from top to bottom with his fine blues playing style. JohnsonCondition: Roll: Original roll in excellent condition, edges are great. Original pull tab. Leader slightly dirty but the roll info and signature stamp is still legible. Box: Original black QRS telescoping box is in good condition. Box top is sturdy with minor shelf wear but no seam splits. Bottom has had a lot of masking tape reinforcement so could be replaced or left as-is.You will receive the exact roll pictured. All rolls have been inspected and determined to be playable on a restored and regulated player piano with any potential defects noted above. Proper care should be given when playing antique piano rolls to avoid damage. Always rewind SLOW and with the left roll flange pulled out slightly to allow the roll to wander and not tear on rewind. Keep your roll tracking mechanism regulated to ensure good paper alignment. If an issue arises and you get a roll that has an unexpected defect, please contact me to resolve any issues.
