Pug - Alfie - Medium - Adult - Male - Dog

　　Hello there, I?m Alfie. I?m about 7 years old, and I?m a beautiful apricot color. I came to APARN a while ago, but I?m just now making my big debut. I had to take antibiotics for a while there, but I?m feeling much better now. It?s amazing what a little TLC can do!

　　Let me tell you about myself. I?m in good shape, and I like to play a lot to stay in shape and keep busy. If you have a tennis ball, I?d love to play with you! You throw it, I?ll chase it and fetch it back. Yep, I?m a retriever pug! I?ll run after toys for a long time, I just love doing that. My foster mom says I have to warn you that I can be a little rough on toys at times. I like to chew them a bit too much. So far, tennis balls have been fine, I don?t damage them! When I?m not playing, I like to snuggle up next to my foster mom or dad. Sometimes I?ll hang out with my foster dad while he?s working in his office. I?m no trouble, I just sit quietly and keep him company. When he?s not working I love getting his attention, but since I?m a pug that kind of goes without saying!

　　Now this might come as a surprise, given my playful disposition, but I?m actually blind in my right eye and I have dry eye in both of my eyes. I don?t let it get me down, though. As long as I get my eye drops every day, I?m fine! I?m very good about letting my foster mom give me my eye meds, so don?t worry, I won?t make it difficult for you!

　　I do wear a belly band in my foster home, and I?ll be honest, I had some accidents in the house when I first came here. I?m doing a lot better now, though, and my foster mom says I probably don?t really need the belly band anymore. I?m just wearing it as a precaution these days. I don?t mind, it?s actually pretty comfy.

　　I?m crate trained, and I?m happy to sleep in my crate at night or when you go out. I?m sure it would be great to sleep on the big bed with you, though, too! I?m also good in the car, you won?t hear a peep out of me. I just go to sleep, no worries!

　　One of the funny things I do is crawl on the floor. Sometimes I?ll grab a toy and crawl around with it. It always makes people laugh when I do this! I know how to sit, and I?m very well behaved. I hardly ever bark, and I get along really well with everyone I meet. I love other small dogs, but I haven?t really met any big dogs since I came to APARN so I?m not sure if I like them or not. I?ll be honest, I?m not super keen on puppies; they have a bit too much energy, even for me! I?m good with children and I?m very easy going really.
