Portia's story

　　This is Portia a gentle Bichon Frise. We saved her from the cruel life of a puppy mill. She is very scared and unaware of her surroundings. Dogs build part of their personality based on what they are exposed to in their younger years. Growing up in a puppy mill does not allow them to be exposed to anything, making them very scared in new situations. She is an older girl around 8 years old. She will require a lot of work and plenty of patience. She will need to be taught what the life of a dog consists of. She is not leash trained, housebroken, or has ever been exposed to a home. She has been crated her whole life. Giving her plenty of time to acclimate to your home will be necessary. This may take more time than a normal dog to get used to a home. Since her hair is long and curly she will require grooming often. If you are gentle and confident that you can get this young girl out of her shell, please consider giving her a forever home.
