My story
Pomelo is an initially super shy girl who once comfortable is a confident, playful girl who has a huge personality, emerging cattitude, and is becoming quite the snuggler when she wants to be! Since Pomelo and her three siblings came from an outdoor cat colony in eastern Colorado and were transferred from a shelter in that area, she got a late start to her socialization with people - but she is making up for it quickly!
When she is comfortable, Pomelo loves to be petted and held, and purrs like a lioness with super loud purr. She has even started insisting on attention from her foster parents. She is very active and loves to play with toys. She can also be pretty vocal at times and loves to talk.
Pomelo appears to absolutely love confident and friendly cats, but she can become very shy and aloof around other cats who are shy and aloof around people. Having a confident feline around makes Pomelo come out of her shell really quickly. She also loves to play with her feline foster brother, sometimes pretty roughly and intensely, so a potential feline sibling should be ok with that and really want an annoying little sister. We also think she could do well with a mellow, cat-friendly dog after proper and slow introductions, or in a single pet home with a patient person with shy cat experience who played with her regularly.
If you are looking for a teenager who can be part punk, part explorer, part snuggler, and part goofball and are interested in giving this girl a chance to blossom in your home, please ask about Pomelo today!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pomelo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
