This handsome young man is Whelton, a two year old male Pointer/Labrador mix. He has a smooth white coat with liver red markings and spotting, like a pointer. He is not as big as a lab, weighing about 42 pounds.Whelton was pulled from our local animal shelter where he had been picked up by Animal Control and no one came to claim him. He had been down there over two months but is such a nice, friendly dog - he was a favorite so that kept him alive. But we couldn't chance that and now he is safe with us. Whelton is very friendly and social. He loves attention and to run and play. He would enjoy having a companion to play with - human or four legged and will require a fenced in yard. He seems to do well with other dogs and is usually submissive. He should be fine with children 10 and up, still a bit jumpy and excitable upon first meeting so don't want to knock any young ones over by mistake. We have started his crate training. Whelton is up to date on his vet care, neutered, microchipped and is heartworm negative. We have started him on his heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Just a good ole dog, Whelton will make a wonderful companion for a very lucky owner. Our adoption fee is $75. Read more information on our adoption process.
