Pluto - You know you want to foster him!'s story

Pluto needs a foster home, is that YOU! email us at eaplevergreen@eapl.com and let us know if you can foster this great dog!

  A508947 Pluto

Pluto is a very special and sweet dog. He is a great walking companion, very obedient during walks. Although he is still learning specific commands, he always follows directions very well. He is 99.9% house trained. Pluto loves to cuddle and to follow his foster parents around from room to room during the day, but at night he is very independent. He finds a special spot anywhere around the house to sleep without even needing a crate. Pluto is a very relaxed dog, he enjoys sleeping during the day in between his walks and loves to eat his dog food. When his foster parents have to leave the house, he lays down to sleep while he waits for them to return home. He has recently discovered toys are made to be played with and has began to have exploring his toys which is a joy to watch. Pluto is very easy going, adorable, simple and grateful at every demonstration of love. If he were a human he would be quite a humble and lovable fella. He hasn't had a chance to interact with many children or other dogs yet but during his walks he gets very excited when he sees kids and allows them to pet him without any problems. When he sees other dogs he usually wants to go play with them. He does not like to bark unless it is absolutely necessary which also makes him an amazing guard dog. Pluto is a very loving and friendly dog who deserves the world and a wonderful family who will share their hearts with him and spoil him as much as he deserves to be spoiled.

He is heartworm positive - PLEASE Don't let heartworm stop you from looking at this amazing dog! EAPL will work with his foster/adopter's on his heartworm treatment. EAPL will cover the cost associated with his heartworm treatments (the immedicide injections and his 7mo follow up blood test to ensure that he is cleared.) We have worked with many HW positive dogs and we have an amazing team of vet's that have successfully treated our dogs. The treatment usually lasts about 2mo (with kennel rest) and he is non-contagious to other dogs while going through his treatment (it is transmitted by mosquito.) Once his treatment is completed, he will be a normal happy dog! Put in your application/email to eaplevergreen@eapl.com today and one of our volunteers can talk to you about heartworm treatment and the process.
