Pit Bull Terrier - Dozer - Medium - Adult - Male - Dog

　　Hello,

　　First of all I want to thank your organization for ALWAYS stepping up and helping dogs that do not have a voice. Who I am: I run two dog groups in San Diego, The Mastiffs and The French Bulldogs. Because of my public profile with these breeds I often get phone calls to help with the placement of an animal. This was the case 2 months ago when I was called by Barstow Humane Society, they told me they had a mastiff mix that was just a few hours away from euthanasia and that I was his last hope.

　　I immediately drove to Barstow to pick up the mastiff. The mastiff turned out to be a beautiful HAPPY HAPPY pitbull. I could not in good conscious leave him there knowing that he would be put down the second I left. So Dozer came home with us. I quickly assessed him and realized that he is not good with dogs or cats, so I have not been able to integrate him with my dogs (who usually help me with behavior modification). He is not out of control, and I believe with a strong trainer and/or owner will be able to be integrated with a submissive female dog. HE LOVES my St Bernard puppy and kisses her through the fence.

　　He has no fence aggression, is a gem on a lead. He is the best dog to take on a walk, he is so easy and ignores all barking and other sounds. He is just so happy to be out and about. He only gets testy if he comes face to face with a dog and even then he is easy to control, usually with just voice commands and if necessary a slight correction on his lead. His ground manners are wonderful and he LOVES TO PLAY. He loves people, is really good with people.

　　He is neutered, crate trained, UTD on shots and his legal paperwork say he is a "mastiff mix" there isn't pitbull anywhere on his papers. I sadly though have had NO LUCK finding him a home. My network isn't really conducive to pitbulls and I am at a loss. I feel sorry for him because we can't integrate him with my dogs and so he spends most of the day on his own in a really big dog run. He is healthy, all his needs are met except for being with a family of his own.

　　Any help will be greatly appreciated, and I know Dozer will be very willing to show it by giviing kisses (he loves to kiss).
