My story
I am Pika, and my sister Marmot and I were born outside where a nice lady fed us and our mom until our foster mom caught us in traps and took us inside when we were almost 3 months old. Our mom was fixed and released through the TNR program. Because of how I grew up, I am a super shy guy and will need continued socialization. I am learning that people are pretty cool and most of the time I really like it when they pet me, although I do sometimes still run from my foster mom because I get scared.
My half sister, Guinea Pig, taught Marmot and I to sometimes hiss at people, a habit I am trying to break. My foster mom says I am looking for a calm, quiet, patient home that will continue my socialization and understands shy cats. I am super curious about everything and I'm getting more confident by the day. I'd do great in a home with a social cat who wants a little brother. I've seen dogs but have never met one and I might do okay with a calm, cat-friendly dog. My foster mom thinks I would do better in a home with no small/young children because I am so shy.
