This is a magnificent burl cherry 5'6" grand made in 1961. It was immaculately refinished in gloss closed-pore lacquer, with a matching bench. I rebuilt it in 2010, repairing the soundboard, and replacing the pinblock and strings. Since then I have been using it as a practice piano while I rebuilt my own personal grand. It has an absolutely spectacular sound, rich and subtle, a sound that no new piano, no matter how good, can duplicate. The action has been rebuilt and regulated using new Renner Blue hammers that are manufactured for Hamburg Steinway. [they are considered the best in the business] The action has new repetitions, so it is light and quick, altogether a wonderful playing experience. I rebuilt the original ivory keyboard using ivories from another piano, so there are a complete set.
