Petunia's story

　　**Petunia is currently being fostered in HOUSTON. She is available for out-of-state adoption as well to the perfect family. Her adoption fee is $495 for non-local adopters, which covers her transport to her new family. She is fully vetted, spayed and microchipped.** Hey guys, my name is Petunia! I was found wandering the streets of Houston and picked up by animal control and taken to the city pound. Yikes! That is one scary place! I was so scared they said I was "unadoptable" and I was put on the "list." I thought that was it for me but turns out life had bigger plans! I was saved by Joyrides Rescue. A nice lady came to pick me up and took me home - she told me she would be my foster mom until I could find a home of my very own. Well once I got to the house, I forgot all about being shy and scared! Here are a few notes from my foster mom about me: Petunia is a wonderful dog with a sweet, gentle soul. She lives with many other dogs and does well with everyone. She is very playful and loves toys - especially chew toys like nylabones. She loves loves loves attention - a total velcro dog. She likes to play chase and wrestle with her k9 foster siblings even though she outweighs them by about 20-30 lbs! She is housetrained and cratetrained. Petunia continues to be shy in public and needs a family who is excited to continue working with her to help her gain confidence. She knows how to walk nicely on a leash and how to sit. She also knows "crate." She is very nervous when we are out (i.e. Petsmart) and keeps her tail tucked but she will walk with me and isn't frozen with fear. She just needs more socialization and confidence building with a family who will love her and let her know things will be ok!
