Perla's story
Meet Perla! Perla came to the shelter as part of a cruelty and neglect case. She was not eating, had three very large bladder stones the size of golf balls, her eyes were matted shut and had severe dental disease. Perla has had multiple surgeries and has come such a long way in just a few months.
Perla is a sweetheart and it doesn't take long for you to fall in love with her. At first, Perla can be shy but once she gets to know you she has lots and lots of kisses to give. She has a funny personality; she loves to get her bed just rightmaneuvering multiple blankets (sometimes dragging them from across the room) to get the perfect spot. She loves to be around her family and will follow you from room to room. She will happily sleep with you at night and likes to sit in your lap. Perla loves to spend time outside and is quite happy to lie in sun. She absolutely LOVES belly rubs. If she is lying down, she will roll over for some love the moment she sees you!
Perla would be the perfect companion for someone who is home during the day and can take her outside on a regular schedule. She does have the occasional accident, but will allow you to put a diaper on. She is extremely smart but a little uncoordinated due to limited eyesight and prior injuries. We arent exactly sure what she has been through, but our goal is to provide a beautiful life for her.
She has been spayed, had a dental and despite losing some teeth, she can eat dry food. She loves treats and will accept anything from dog biscuits to chicken!
Perla is good with cats, dogs and children of all ages. Her foster siblings include two senior cats and an SDHH alum. Perla is our sweet little princess and is ready to become a part of your kingdom! Do you have room in your home for this lovely girl? She would really love to meet you!
