My story

　　Perdita was named after the mother dog in 101 Dalmatians and it is latin for "the lost".  Which is perfect for this girl because she was found running down a country road, apparently lost or dumped.  She has a quirky personality and her expressions can be so comical.  When she cocks her ears to listen, she looks like Minnie Mouse.  She has beautiful coal black eyes too!

　　Perdita is very scared of strangers so her rescue was truly amazing.  I had stopped the car and left the door open while I tried to get her to come to me.  She would run and then come back when I called out to her.  Eventually, she circled around my car and came to me and then jumped right into the car!  I feel it was preordained that we should meet and I should rescue her!

　　Perdita is hyper which is the standard for this breed.  She needs a very active home where she gets lots of exercise and attention.  She LOVES the water and she doesn't care if it's a muddy hole just so long as it is water!  Perdita is best buddies with another rescue girl named Leia.  It would be wonderful if they could be adopted together.  She has not been with cats, small dogs or children.  She does stay in a crate when she is not out running and playing with Leia.  She is not leash trained and needs work on this. 

　　Perdita has been spayed and is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations.  She tested negative for heartworms and has been kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.  She has also received monthly flea/tick medication and been wormed.  Leia has a microchip.
