My story
Hi! My name is Perch and I'm a super sweet boy. I am a swirly orange fellow, a bit on the lean side but we are working on that. I really really love people and attention, but I also still have a few insecurities I'm working through. When my foster comes into the room I run up to her, rub on her legs, let her lean down and scritch me and purr up a storm. She will pick me up and I still purr and enjoy the scritches, but then I turn my head and look up and realize that I'm being held by a HUMAN(!) and get a total look of shock on my face and squirm and try to get away. I feel really bad afterwards and I am getting better about it, but I just need a bit more time. I had very badly infected ears and they were super sore. The vet people had to keep messing with them week after week when all I wanted was for them to leave me alone. Finally they gave me something that made me take a nap, did some magic on my ears (deep ear flush) and they feel SOOO much better now. I'd love to find a home that I can call my own. I was around a 8-month puppy in a prior home and thought he was fun (though he needs to learn boundaries at time!). My current foster Mom has a big cat and while we haven't spent much time together, I like him and he doesn't bother me at all. I have great litter box habits and am getting to be a good eater now that my ears don't hurt.
