This boundary stone, granite I believe, is from the Northumberland, PA location where the North Branch Division of the canal was started in the late 1820's. making this over 180 years old. It is approx. 8 X 8" square and between 36 and 40 inches in length, weighing well over 300 pounds. This stone would have been placed by the surveyers who laid out the alignment for the canal at the outset of construction. Significant queries just kindly.
