Pedro 29936's story
UPDATE: Pedro now has a foster home while he is being treated for heart worms. Pedro is a 3-year-old male Chihuahua mix who has already been neutered. 'Special Needs' has been indicated on his bio because he has screened positive for heart worms. Pedro is in a foster home while he is being treated for heart worms. His is a handsome fellow whose coat is white and has brown ears. Pedro only weighs 12 pounds so he is a small dog. He would be fine in a home with other dogs and older children. Pedro is currently in a foster home while he is being treated for heart worms so please call our staff about his availability before coming to the shelter. Staff will answer phones Monday through Saturday from 11:00 until 4:00.
You may remember our directed spay/neuter campaign this past spring--'Spay Neuter Autauga County'-- which was made possible by a $20,000 Petco Lifesaving Grant. PAHS has remaining funds from this grant and we are happy to announce that effective December 1, 2018 all adoptions will be reduced by half! For the month of December (as funds will allow) cat adoption fees will be $25 and dog adoptions $60. We are thrilled to offer this gift to the animals and people of our community. Upon partnering with Petco and receiving these monies, PAHS pledged to work toward 'live outcomes' with shelter animals; we believe half-price adoptions will fulfill this promise and is a great way to end the year! Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter certificate, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heartworm negative.
