Meet Patriot! Patriot is a 3 year old, 41 lb wire haired terrier mix. He looks like he might have a little bit Airedale terrier or Irish wolfhound in him. Patriot needs to be an only dog and in a home with older children only (12+). After a slow and thorough introduction to other dogs, he'll run and play. Patriot loves to play fetch and is always ready for a long walk, run or hike. He is very calm in the home, he is quiet in the crate and loves to cuddle too. He is housebroken, crate trained, and healthy as can be! He does get a bit stressed out in situations with lots of people, lots of other dogs or children present. But he loves his crate and is comfortable there, so that would be the best option if the adopter is throwing a party or event. Patriot is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines.
Please go to Second Chance Dog Rescue's website at: http://secondchancedogrescue.org/adopt-a-dog/adoption-application/ to complete an application to meet him. Patriot's adoption fee is $250.00 which helps the rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies.
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.
We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.
All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.
Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
