Today I have for you a classic-looking Panerai watch. This watch is the Panerai Luminor 1950 Flyback chronograph, automatic, Oro Rosso, in red-gold. Model number for this watch is PAM 525. Before we start we're gonna be doing a unboxing, reviewing the case, how to adjust the time, along with looking over the strap. At the end of this I'll give you the necessary information to find the watch for the lowest price. Buying this watch brand-new, you're gonna be receiving the watch, of course, in this largebox. It's a beautiful box, and you have a booklet with information and also warranty information included as well. Going back to the watch itself. The case size of this PAM 525 is a 44 millimeter. As I said before, it's a red-gold material case. That's a little bit different that what we know as rose-gold. Red-gold is a little more noticeable copper color than rose-gold 'cause it has slightly higher copper content to bring out more of that redness of the color. Numbers-wise, rose-gold has up to 20% copper, while red-gold like this PAM 525 has 25% copper. The dial color here is a black sandwich dial with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers. Really cool dial. Now, sandwich dials, if you guys are not familiar, is a plate of loom that's actually underneath all of this outer dial with cutouts. What you're gonna see, notice cutouts here on the hour markers and the seconds hands, they're cutout, and of course, there's a luminescence that's right below them so you can actually see this glow in the dark. It's a really popular dial with Panerai lovers. And the date here is actually located here at the three o'clock position where that number seven is. In addition, we have an additional chronograph center, seconds, and minute hand that are pretty thin, but they're easy to spot because it's blue. There's actually another hand that's sitting right behind this one, this blue one. I'll explain about it in a little bit. All these components are covered by a sapphire crystal here. On the right we have Panerai's trademark crown protector. If you guys know, Panerai's, this is one of the things that sets 'em apart from any other watch brand. With Panerai's crown protector, it does keep the crown locked in and prevents it from being pulled out. As with Rolex crowns, you had to unscrew 'em until it pops out, and it allows you to adjust the time and such. Panerai's locking system allows you to quickly adjust the time, secure the crown down much faster than your traditional screw-down crown, and you can immediately adjust what you need to adjust. So, one pull lets you adjust the hour hand. As you can see here, this is a quick hour jump. I'll move that minute hand out of the way so you can see the date turn when we go past 12 o'clock. It already turned to eight. And I'll go around one more time so you can see that. Here it goes to the ninth of the month. Pop that back in. As always, you gotta make sure you lock this back in original position to keep the watch water-resistant. For this Panerai, it's water-resistant up to 50 meters, or 160 feet. The chronograph pushers are located here at the eight o'clock position and 10 o'clock position. It allows you to actually use this chronograph. This chronograph is actually a center-seconds chronograph, so you can see this blue hand move. You'll see it moving around the dial. If you look really close, you'll be able to see there's another thin secondhand that's at the 12 o'clock position still sitting there. As this blue hand moves around the dial, the secondhand that's sitting at the 12, there you can see a lot better now, it's gonna move one tick, as in one minute, to one-minute marker from the 12 o'clock position for every revolution of this blue secondhand right here. That allows you to track up to 60 minutes of track time if you were doing a chronograph function with that. If you actually wait long enough, you'll be able to see that secondhand pop over to the just one-minute tick. Hard to get a good beat on it. Can see it moving ever so slightly. In order to actually set this and put it back, you actually would be stopping it, pressing this 10-o'clock position, and resetting it with the eight-o'clock position pusher here. You'll notice it actually moves right back to the 12-o'clock position. It's really cool feature. If you're familiar with normal traditional chronographs, they're a lot busier on the dial. Panerai probably wanted to keep this not so busy, and they actually did a really great job of it. Now moving on to the back of the case of this PAM 525, we can see a sapphire crystal. This an exhibition case back that shows the P.9100 movement. Beautiful. You can see the inner components, and obviously this automatic movement. You saw that oscillator there. P.9100 is an unusual movement, obviously, as you can see that it's a center seconds hand, or center chronograph hand. You see engraved on the side of the case, you see the official Panerai name on the back of the case back you saw earlier. It's really cool. I'll go ahead and show you the watch on the wrist so you can see what it looks like on the wrist. Beautiful watch. Goes a little bit over my wrist, as far asgoing over it. But it is a 44 millimeter. It's the standard size most guys are happy with. A downside to this watch, in my opinion, is probably having that quick date-set. I like having a quick date-set. In this case, you're looking at a quick hour jump. Overall this watch is a very simple, elegant watch. Would go really well with casual wear or even a suit.
