*OZZIE's story
*Ozzie, formerly known as Oscar, was surrendered after his owner got a second dog and realized that his lease only allowed him to have one dog. Ozzie is a master kennel breaker and will escape from wire crates and even heavier plastic ones unless they are securely zip tied shut. Ozzie will either need to have a strong reinforced hard plastic kennel (a ''lion-tamer'' kennel) which can be fairly expensive, or to have someone who is home more often than not, as he is very destructive when he gets out and is alone. Ozzie was only in his most recent home for 3 months, so his new owners will need to be prepared to be patient with him and also expect to put some work into integrating him successfully into the home. Ozzie is a very young dog and has not gotten the best start in life. We highly recommend that Ozzie''s new owners take him to a basic obedience course and give him plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep him happy and tired. Ozzie is supposedly good with babies but has not lived with toddlers or older children, will chase cats (but has not tried to injure the cat living in his home) and does not have much dog experience but has been friendly while at the shelter. Ozzie barks at strangers but has been very friendly with our tenders. Ozzie is housebroken and will whine when he needs to potty, and knows the commands ''sit'' and ''lay down''. If you can devote time and effort to molding Ozzie, you could be rewarded with a very wonderful companion.
