My story
Ombre is a loving boy! From his foster: He gives the sweetest hippo kisses, loves playing tug with a little fetch thrown in, giving stuffies nib nibs, is food/treat motivated, enthusiastic, playful, and has the most soulful eyes! He's very curious and always checking out what I'm doing happy to be near me doing whatever it is he wants to do. He's skittish around new things, but will cautiously check it out when given the space and opportunity to do so.He LOVES other dogs and likes to play and run and tug and chase! With that being said, he gets jealous and will butt in and bite on a dog that's getting attention when he isn't. He's also quite adamant when he wants attention and isn't getting it. Sometimes he'll bark, jump, and escalate to nipping feet/shoes/ankles for the attention. Funny, but not something that's well tolerated or fun for most people. He will bark (BIG bark) at dogs from the car or window, but he's totally cool and wants to play when actually together. He doesn't stop moving. Ever. He's got non-stop energy and doesn't know when to take naps or just be calm... He's still a young pup and very much acts like it!He's cat curious (a little rough, but NEVER aggressive). My cat loves dogs, but doesn't usually correct their behavior like a normal cat would, so I'm not sure how he would react to being told NO by a cat.
He's crate trained and will settle down pretty quickly once in it, but will get awfully stubborn about going into it from time to time, even with treats. He's working on house training, but hasn't learned to ask yet and still gets puppy distracted with play/excitement and then has an accident. We are currently working on sit, wait, down, and come together. We are also working on ""state of mind"" and working towards place and walking calmly on the leash and not biting it and treating it as a tug toy. He's extremely food motivated and very smart (knows how to manipulate to get more food - lol)!He is house and kennel trained.
Playgroup - https://youtube.com/shorts/Brmr_wwiRKsInterested in this pup? The first step is to fill out the adoption application on our website!! Check out our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! We also host adoption events almost every Saturday at our clinic, 1721 W Harmony unit 102 Fort Collins Co 80526 10am-2pm! We also host adoption events at Petco or Crunch Fitness next door to Petco in Fort Collins almost every Saturday from 10-12:30pm. If you would like to place a deposit for a puppy for the first hour of the event please email us if you have an approved application. Puppies without deposits will be available at the event first come, first serve. Please note that not all animals attend the adoption events.Interested in volunteering and/or fostering? Please email us at [email protected] and size disclosure: As a rescue all of our dogs come to us from high-kill shelters or other rescues, so we do not get a lot of background or information on these dogs. We occasionally receive the mother with the puppies, but in most cases both parents are unknown. Because of this we do not know the full breeding of the dogs. We are required to list the dogs based on the breeds provided to us on their records, but they are all mixed breeds as far as we know, and we cannot guarantee the actual breeds of any of these dogs. Since the full breeding of the dogs is unknown we can also only give you an educated guess on the full-grown size of the dogs. All of the current information we have on the dogs is listed in their bio above. More information may be available over email, since a lot of the fosters turn in report cards on how the dog has done in their care. Adoption Process: If you are interested in adopting from us, the first step of our adoption process is to fill out an application online at http://aaanimalrescue.org/adoption_app.html. It takes us up to 24-48 hours to process your application and get back to you, via email. Applications turned in Friday afternoon or Saturday morning will not be seen until the following Monday. We do have applications on site, but are not always able to approve them at that time and many of the dogs will already have holds on them, so we suggest you fill out an application prior to attending a meet/greet. We can place a hold on one dog per approved applicant after a deposit fee has been received, please do not ask to hold a dog if you have not turned in
an application and been approved. If you do not place a hold we cans till schedule a meet/greet, we just cannot guarantee availability of the dog, first serve basis. If you already have an approved application on file, there will just be more paperwork and the adoption fee at the meet/greet, but you will be able to take home the dog/puppy that day! Since we are foster based and not a shelter, our dogs are only available to meet with an appointment scheduled or at an adoption event!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ombre, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
