Meet Ollie, a gentle and sweet-natured 1.5-year-old Shih Tzu mix who came to TRD in March 2018. Ollie hasn't lived an easy life so far--when he was found, Ollie was a stray with long, matted hair, and one of his front legs has been permanently warped beyond use (possibly a birth defect). But with his resilient spirit and loving personality, Ollie has come a long way in just a few weeks in his foster home.
Ollie likes to be with his foster family and loves to cuddle with them. His favorite activity is cuddling in bed with his foster mom. He is great with adults, kids, dogs, and cats in his foster home. He also likes to run around the yard, although he does get tired easily running on 3 legs. But that hasn't stopped Ollie from becoming a master fetcher. He loves to play fetch everyday!
Apart from fetch, Ollie understands other commands like Sit, Come, and Name Recall. Ollie has been impatient with his food and tends to pounce on his food at meal times--possibly something he caught on from his stray doggy days. His foster family is working on this with him. On walks around the neighborhood, he is calm on the leash and generally non-reactive.
If your family is looking for a low energy dog with a ton of personality, this 10-pound cuddling nugget might be the perfect match for you. If you would like to meet Ollie, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch.http://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/
